Title: Senior Data Analyst

Location: San Mateo, CA (Remote and locals Preferred)

Full-Time

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to lead complex data initiatives, deliver impactful business insights, and guide data-driven decision-making. This role combines technical expertise, analytical rigor, and leadership capability. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with modern BI tools, cloud data platforms, and data modeling, along with the ability to manage cross-functional collaboration and mentor junior team members.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end data initiatives, from requirement gathering through data modeling, ETL development, validation, and dashboard/report deployment.
  • Act as the technical authority on projects, driving best practices in data architecture, analytics engineering, and reporting solutions.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
  • Work directly with business users and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions that support enterprise-wide reporting and analytics needs.
  • Design and develop efficient and scalable data models (star/snowflake schemas) for analytical purposes.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines using tools like SSIS, ADF, Informatica, or similar.
  • Implement and manage data infrastructure, including relational databases, cloud data warehouses, and analytics sandboxes.
  • Maintain strong data governance and quality standards across all analytics projects.
  • Support internal teams by providing technology consulting, data troubleshooting, and mentoring resources where needed.
  • Create reusable components, templates, and solution accelerators to improve delivery efficiency and ensure consistency.
  • Contribute to competency building initiatives, such as certifications and knowledge-sharing on tools like Azure, Snowflake, AWS, Databricks, Alteryx, etc.
  • Collaborate effectively with offshore teams in India to ensure alignment on project goals, smooth handoffs, and successful project delivery.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or BI development roles.
  • Strong SQL skills and deep experience with relational databases like Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Amazon Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
  • Experience in data integration tools like SSIS, ADF, ODI, AWS Glue, or Informatica.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, including star schema, snowflake, and denormalized models.
  • Exposure to enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills able to lead project teams and mentor junior analysts.
  • Experience contributing to solution design, pre-sales support, and proofs of concept/value is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and modern analytics frameworks is an advantage.
