Position Summary: Provides electrical engineering primarily for process control and electrical designs, technical support for projects and support to Plant operating units. Manage capital and expense projects

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery and reporting of projects including product upgrades, cost-saving initiatives, and process improvements affecting manufacturing on time and on budget.
  • Collaborate with Plant Operations and Maintenance by providing detailed project cost estimates, budgets, and equipment installation designs.
  • Implement projects by organizing resources, leading contractors, maintenance employees, inspectors, and regulators.
  • Analyze equipment, power systems, and control systems. Provide solutions to correct issues and improve processes.
  • Support the Mill Operations and Maintenance Teams during upset conditions and outages.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develops or oversees development of control system strategies, instrumentation. hardware selections, and electrical power systems including designs, drawings and specifications.
  • Investigates, troubleshoots and provides engineering solutions for repeat electrical system problems and failures. Oversees corrective measures.
  • Coordinates and oversees electrical installations and modifications to achieve project performance objectives and cost, schedule and safety requirements.
  • Procures electrical equipment for projects.
  • Manages and Coordinates Outside Contractors (sub-contractors) and vendors. Serves as the company rep for same.
  • Performs SAP roles mapped and delegated to the Electrical Engineer.
  • Develop project scope, cost estimates, and prepare Appropriation Requests.

Key Skills:
  • Candidate must have a strong desire to execute capital projects and improve control systems in an industrial setting.
  • The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of personal computer systems and related software or the ability to advance understanding of CAD, DCS, and PLC controllers and software is essential.

Required Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • 5+ years of project experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and listening) and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical and time management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical/instrumentation engineering with experience in project design and implementation practices.

Preferred Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience with electrical, power, and instrumentation systems.
  • Paper Experience
