Job Description
Title: Data Scientist
Location: Remote - PST
Scope of work
The CW will work on the Privacy track under Monetization s Signal Growth Priority. There are two Workstreams that we need help with:
1) Non-user agency privacy regulations: Initiatives that address privacy regulations where users do not have agency (i.e., product changes that we need to make that are required by regulators and are not up to users to decide upon)
2) Privacy Resilience / Long-term risks: Investments to make our overall privacy tech stack more resilient to long-term risks.
DS support is needed to define metrics, measure ROI of programs, analyze experiment results, and partner with XFNs on product strategy. Continuation of Ads Aggregate Program to ensure unconsented user data is not used in ads, addressing the challenge of filtering out opted-out user contributions from aggregated data sets. Determine prevalence and required recall once assets are labeled and work with leads to obtain approval on the recall
Responsibilities:
Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches.
Apply technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our products that serve billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses.
Identify and measure success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key product metrics to understand trends.
Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve the product, and drive roadmaps through your insights and recommendations.
Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
Experience supporting experiments and crunching numbers more quantitative work.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in mathematics, statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent.
7-10 years of work experience in analytics, data querying languages such as SQL, scripting languages such as Python, and/or statistical mathematical software such as R (minimum of 5 years with a Ph.D.)
7-10 years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, understanding ecosystems, user behaviors & long-term product trends, and leading data-driven projects from definition to execution [including defining metrics, experiment, design, communicating actionable insights]
Must haves:
-Data language (i.e. SQL, etc.) and must have statistical knowledge.
-Must be able to use spreadsheets.
Nice to have:
-Python, R
-Strong communication skills
-Must be able to quickly adapt and navigate ambiguous situations.
