About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and accountable Software Engineer with strong data engineering expertise to join our team as a contingent worker. In this role, you will contribute to moderately complex software engineering initiatives, including the design and development of scalable data pipelines, data modeling, and cloud integration. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business and compliance requirements.

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and accountable Software Engineer with strong data engineering expertise to join our team as a contingent worker. In this role, you will contribute to moderately complex software engineering initiatives, including the design and development of scalable data pipelines, data modeling, and cloud integration. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, PySpark, Python).
- Integrate and manage data services with Amazon AWS S3, ensuring secure and efficient object storage.
- Perform data modeling and database design to support scalable and reliable data architecture.
- Implement and manage job scheduling using Autosys.
- Develop dashboards and data visualizations using PowerBI and Dremio.
- Write and maintain Unix/shell scripts and contribute to CI/CD pipeline automation.
- Troubleshoot and optimize data transformation logic and pipeline performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in technical assessments and problem-solving discussions.
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering, demonstrated through professional experience, consulting, training, military service, or education.
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of Autosys job scheduling and database fundamentals (e.g., MySQL).
- Proficiency in Python, Spark, and Unix scripting.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) in a data engineering context.
- Background in financial services or domain knowledge in finance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to articulate technical solutions clearly.
