EMPLOYER: Optum Services Inc.
JOB TITLE: Sr. Data Engineer
LOCATION: 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.)
DUTIES: Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance. Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation. Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status Recommend solutions to business issues through practical, elegant, and effective business intelligence and data reporting vehicles. Incorporate best practices and standards in metadata and report/dashboard development. Develop ETL packages and research connector tools needed to extract data from data sources and integrate the tool. Write complex SQL queries to quality check work, research data issues and test code. Write stored procedures to optimize code and create silver and gold level data sets. Integrate data where necessary. Design and create data structures to support business need. Migrate data warehouses/databases from on prem to cloud. Monitor and provide support to existing ETL jobs until warranty period. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S.
REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in an computer-related occupation. Position requires 2 years of experience in the following: SQL; Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL); SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); SQL Server Agent; Incremental data loads; Data warehouse; SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS); SQL Server Analysis Services(SSAS); and Data modeling.
RATE OF PAY: $134,954.00-$169,155.00/per year
