The IT Mobility project manager is responsible for managing and providing direction for telecommunications projects of varying size and complexity from initiation through completion across cross-functional project teams. In this role, you will liaise between business stakeholders and our IT department, balancing business needs with telecommunications requirements and supporting seamless integration. You will review all project requirements and determine scheduling, budgeting, and resource needs. In addition, you will manage telecommunication partners to deliver services across support center locations and field offices. In addition to educational qualifications, applicants should have experience in IT project planning and be comfortable adhering to strict deadlines.
End-to-End Project Management
Manages the day-to-day aspects of a project(s) to deliver high-quality, on time, on budget outcomes within the project scope.
Lead the planning, execution, and completion of a mobile end user device migration initiative for over 5,000 clients.
Develop and manage the project plan, timeline, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and the mobile carrier.
Coordinate internal stakeholders, including IT, Procurement, Legal, HR, and end-users, to ensure readiness and timely execution.
Coordinate end user data and coordinate with mobile carrier.
Carrier and Vendor Management
Work with carrier representatives to track orders, resolve issues, and escalate support requests as needed.
Ensure carrier SLAs are met and services (SIM provisioning, number porting, device activation) are delivered per schedule.
Data Collection and Management
Oversee the collection and validation of required user and device data (IMEIs, phone numbers, user details, current plans, etc.).
Maintain accurate tracking documentation and migration status dashboards.
User Communication & Support Coordination
Develop communication plans and documentation to inform and guide users through the migration process.
Coordinate with internal support/helpdesk teams for deployment, device setup, and troubleshooting.
Reporting & Documentation
Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders on progress, risks, and issues.
Document lessons learned and post-migration outcomes for future reference.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience managing large-scale telecom or mobility projects (preferably over 1,000 devices).
Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, or similar).
Ability to work independently and drive accountability across multiple teams.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors/4 Yr Degree Preferred
Prior experience working with telecommunications carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.
Familiarity with MDM/EMM platforms a plus.
Rate: $50-55/hour (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week. Contract duration is 6 months with possible extensions. This position currently does not offer any benefits.
