Compensation
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $91,600 - $190,400/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). As a Solutions Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
- Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
- Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate.
- Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customer's needs.
- Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos, Customer Analysis Reports (CAR's) and Proof of Concepts (POC's).
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, another related field or its equivalent
- Have experience working in a customer-facing technical solutions pre-sales role
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the internet, including Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, WAF, Bot Mgt, DDoS, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS protocols and more
- Be a customer advocate passionate about delivering technical solutions
- Demonstrate experience with presenting technical topics to diverse audiences
- Be a team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast changing environment
