Description
SAIC is looking for an Information Technology Project Manager to join our team supporting an important US government agency in the National Capital Region. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team that engineers and implements upgrades and modernization of critical IT systems and applications.
This role requires on-site work in Washington, D.C. 3 days per week.
The customer manages and maintains a roadmap of IT infrastructure projects and upgrades that are prioritized and assigned to SAIC for execution. Major projects include Azure migrations, RedHat (RHEL) and Windows Server and Desktop operating system upgrades, Oracle Database and Middleware Upgrades, ZTA implementation, NetBackup Modernization, Mobile Device Refresh, Resiliency Implementation and more. These are a few examples of the important projects for which the project manager in this position would be responsible for leading and managing.
Project managers provide leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams comprised of systems engineers, test engineers, systems administrators, database administrators, federal project sponsors and others. Project managers are responsible for scope, schedule, and quality performance of IT project teams. Responsibilities also include conducting Agile ceremonies, managing scope, coordinating stakeholder participation, assessing, and mitigating risks, reporting progress against plan, collecting lessons learned, and delivering executive presentations.

Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of project management experience in a technical environment with a variety of IT systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- PMP Certification required.
- Agile methodology and agile software tools experience. The successful candidate must also have knowledge of current information technology systems, software application development, IT infrastructure, and technologies.
- Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a large community of stakeholders.
- Candidates must possess leadership skills to successfully manage diverse teams.
- All candidates for consideration must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Strong understanding of IT Infrastructure, SDLC and cloud technologies (certifications preferred), especially Microsoft Azure.
- Experience using Azure DevOps software for project management.
- Experience managing IT infrastructure projects through an Agile methodology.
- A strong working knowledge of network technologies and concepts, Active Directory, Windows Server OS, and Desktop and cloud applications such as Office365 and SharePoint Online.
