Title: DevOps Enterprise Application Hosting Engineer Level 3
The State of CT, in service of the Department of Social Services requires one DevOps Enterprise Application Hosting Engineer position from the IT Professional Services Master Agreement to assist with the implementation, hosting and ongoing support of all DSS and Health Insurance Exchange (Access Health CT) Enterprise Applications and their respective environments. The engineer will report to the BITS DevOps IT Manager.
Preferred candidates will possess a broad range of IT experience including development, testing, and infrastructure (all areas of SDLC).
This role focuses on building and maintaining the infrastructure used to automate the release, deployment, and upgrade processes for State of CT hosted enterprise applications.
This role will be responsible for the operations and operating environment for the DevOps platforms and will drive troubleshooting efforts around incidents and outages.

Responsibilities Include:
- DevOps
- Create and implement automated processes with a DevOps mindset.
- Analyze technology used within the agency and develop means and processes to improve and expand upon them.
- Deploy product updates, identify production issues, and implement integrations that meet business needs and standards.
- Share best practices and mentor other Engineers in the areas where you're an expert.
- Help remediate security vulnerabilities as they re detected.
- Enterprise Application Hosting
- Installation and configuration of software products such as IBM WebSphere, Adobe AEM, Informatica, Batch, IBM IIB, and other products that support the enterprise applications as required.
- Deploy Enterprise Application code packages using manual and automated processes.
- Testing and troubleshooting web and application server issues.
- Enterprise Application health, alerting and response.
- Enterprise Application Support
- Support and maintenance of Enterprise Application environments.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical problems quickly and effectively.
- Continuous monitoring of Enterprise Applications and their respective environments and infrastructure.
- Documentation & Communication
- Document and communicate all appropriate information related to Enterprise Application hosting and support efforts in written form as well as verbal format; in a complete, clear, and concise manner utilizing the ticketing systems, email.
- Create, modify, and maintain application and technology process flow diagrams.
- Create, modify, and maintain web and application hosting procedures.
Skills / Experience required:
- Minimum of 3 5 years experience providing custom enterprise application support and services.
- IBM WebSphere Application Server
- IBM Enterprise Service Bus, IIB
- IBM WebSphere Message Broker
- IBM Certified System Administrator preferred
- Windows Server Administration
- Working knowledge of NTFS, Group Policy, Active Directory
- Linux Server Administration
- Managed File Transfer Systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Enterprise Application deployment automation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite and Teams for Business
- Programming, Scripting, and automation skills
- (i.e., SQL, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Shell, Batch)
- Experience with project management tools such as JIRA
- Application Deployment Automation
- MidVision Rapid Deploy automation software (a plus)
- Continuous Monitoring and Alerting
- NewRelic Monitoring and alerting (a plus)
Work Schedule: Approximately 40 Hours per Week, (Floating 2nd Shift Schedule once a month)
Operational Hours: 7:00 AM 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
