Systems Engineer 3

Duration: 12 months

Work Location: Everett WA 98204

Work Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Job Description:

The selected candidate will help design, certify & support commercial airplanes by applying state-of-art reliability and maintainability engineering design, modelling and analysis principles. R&M Engineering is a key functional discipline that supports the airplane development for optimal performance, lifecycle economics & compliance to safety and airworthiness requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

Use modelling, simulation and data analytics methodologies & tools including statistical and probabilistic analyses.

Serve as a technical specialist supporting other functional design groups during all stages of the airplane product development and support lifecycle.

Responsible for aiding in determining program technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, airplane operational availability & maintenance cost.

Provide support in the following areas:

Design for Reliability & Safety (airplane and system design reliability requirements validation & verification, reliability requirements allocation to suppliers, failure modes, rates, effects, propagation and detection analysis, architecture & operational provisions, safety & certification analysis, certification support, reliability & durability testing).

Interaction with airplane system suppliers, business partners, airline customers, airplane development program leaders, and functional management is typical, as is a high level of communication between the rest of the R&M Engineering internal organization, program teams, and functional design areas. Team involvement and individual effort, problem solving, and managing multiple actions and assignments will be regular duties for an R&M engineer.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

8 or more years' related work experience in the reliability engineering field

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with propulsion or airplane systems

Reliability engineering experience.

Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) experience.

Commercial Airplane Certification experience.
