Job Details
The Senior Financial Analyst supports enterprise financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and systems optimization. This role serves as a bridge between Finance and IT, ensuring accurate, efficient, and strategic use of financial systems and data to drive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead the development and enhancement of financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses - Manage budgeting processes, variance analysis, and monthly/quarterly reporting - Serve as subject matter expert on financial systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft, Quickbase, Power BI, or equivalent tools - Partner with IT and finance teams to identify and implement financial system improvements - Ensure data integrity, standardization, and system compliance across financial platforms - Support capital project analysis, resource planning, and performance dashboards - Drive financial transformation initiatives, including automation and process optimization - Train and support end users on financial reporting tools and system workflows - Develop ad hoc reports and dashboards for executive and operational leadership - Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into financial system configurations
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS, or a related field - 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial systems, or a related analytical role - Strong understanding of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle PeopleSoft) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) - Proven experience building and maintaining financial models and dashboards - Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills - Strong knowledge of GASB, budgeting principles, and capital vs. operating expense classifications - Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage deadlines - Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications: - Master s degree in Business, Finance, or MIS - Experience working in public sector or enterprise fund environments - Familiarity with project portfolio management (PPM) tools - Experience with financial system implementations, upgrades, or transformations - Knowledge of data governance and system integration best practices
