The ideal candidate will excel in creating real-world thermal conditions in laboratory environments and have a strong background in data analysis to drive design improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive thermal test plans and strategies for consumer wearable devices.
- Set up and operate thermal validation environments, including thermal chambers, heated body models, air circulators, and solar light sources.
- Instrument devices for accurate thermal measurements under varying conditions.
- Collect and analyze thermal data to generate insightful reports and presentations for cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with design teams on thermal considerations, simulations, mitigation strategies, and throttling schemes.
- Document thermal requirements, test procedures, and results in a clear and organized manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in thermal characterization of battery-operated consumer electronic devices.
- Proficiency in generating thermal models using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques.
- Hands-on experience with experimentation, thermal data capture, and report generation.
- Familiarity with thermal analysis of systems using advanced materials.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer theory and thermal analysis software tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Science or Engineering with a focus on thermal design, testing, or simulation.
- 1-5 years of experience in thermal analysis, design, and testing.
- Proficiency in thermal analysis software and data analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, mechanical, and structural design principles.
- Preferably some thermal validation testing background. This includes reliability testing, thermal root causing and mitigation strategies, such as throttling.
- Proficiency indata analysistools for post processing validation results.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multitask across various disciplines and projects.
Soft skills:
- Good stakeholder communication skills. This can be demonstrated by experience managing multiple projects, implemented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI),
