Purpose
The Florida Department of Corrections (Department) Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to support data warehouse and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) testing initiatives. The QA Analyst will ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across multiple systems by developing and executing detailed test plans, validating data transformations, and coordinating with developers, analysts, and business users to maintain the highest quality standards.
Education Requirements
A bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or a related field, or
Five (5) years of equivalent work experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
General Experience Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in systems development, testing, or business analysis.
Scope of Work / Responsibilities
The QA Analyst will:
Analyze business requirements, ETL mapping documents, and data models.
Develop, document, and execute SQL queries to validate data accuracy.
Conduct testing of ETL processes, including extraction, transformation, and loading.
Validate fact and dimension tables, ensuring data integrity and referential accuracy.
Perform data reconciliation between source, staging, and target systems.
Conduct data quality checks (nulls, duplicates, invalid values, referential integrity).
Verify aggregations, derived columns, and business logic.
Test BI reports and dashboards against data warehouse tables.
Work with developers and DBAs to resolve defects and data discrepancies.
Develop automation frameworks for regression and sanity testing.
Define and track QA metrics (defects, test results, test status).
Collaborate with QA Leads/Managers to design and execute test strategies.
Conduct performance and scalability testing for ETL jobs and SQL queries.
Prepare test summary reports and present quality metrics to stakeholders.
Mentor team members and promote QA best practices across the team.
Technical Skills (Required)
Strong SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions).
Deep understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and testing methodologies (manual and automated).
Experience with functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing.
Proficiency with ETL tools, BI/Reporting tools, and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM).
Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
Basic Unix/Linux knowledge for job monitoring and log analysis.
