RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Phoenix seeking an iSeries Engineer to join their team in Phoenix, AZ.
Key Responsibilities:
* Administer and support enterprise-grade server infrastructure, including virtualized environments and hardware management consoles
* Maintain and upgrade operating systems, applying patches and tuning systems for optimal performance
* Manage backup and recovery solutions, including virtual tape libraries, snapshot technologies, and secure archival systems
* Support high availability configurations and disaster recovery strategies
* Oversee enterprise storage systems and integrate them with data protection workflows
* Use command-line tools to manage hardware, virtualization layers, network switches, and storage platforms
* Conduct capacity planning, system health monitoring, and recovery testing
* Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for infrastructure-related issues
* Collaborate with vendors and third-party support teams to resolve escalations and drive continuous improvement
* Develop and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures
* Participate in audits and ensure compliance with security and access control standards
* Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma/GED or equivalent
* At least 3 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise infrastructure
* At least 2 years of experience managing high availability, backup, and storage technologies
* Advanced experience with enterprise-class server platforms and operating systems
* Proficiency in backup, high availability, and system automation tools commonly used in large-scale IT environments
* Strong understanding of virtualization, storage systems, and data protection technologies
* Skilled in command-line administration for infrastructure components such as servers, switches, and storage
* Familiarity with job scheduling and automation platforms
* Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, storage, and network layers
* Effective communication and vendor coordination skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
* Strong documentation and presentation skills for technical audiences
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
