Job Details

Red River is seeking a Senior Wireless Engineer to join our growing team! The Sr. Wireless Engineer is responsible for Red River customer projects including wireless network design, deployment and troubleshooting services. The Sr. Wireless Engineer will be required to work remotely and onsite to achieve customer project goals. Ability to provide guidance to other Engineers and Associates supporting projects.

Primary Position Tasks:
  • Advanced design and deployment of network, wireless, and hardware configurations
  • Perform and review wireless RF coverage surveys using Ekahau
  • Ability to Assess customers WLAN from RF and Configuration best practices
  • Preparing WLAN equipment for deployment
  • Support, troubleshoot, and install wireless and related technologies.
  • Maintain industry certifications as required
  • Other business duties as assigned


Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:
  • CWNA - Certified Wireless Network Associate
  • Aruba Certifications strongly preferred (required to be obtained within six months of starting the role)
  • Ekahau Certification preferred
    • ECSE - Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer
    • Certification can be replaced with 3-5yrs experience
  • Experience with following WLAN OEM's
    • Cisco
    • Mist / Juniper
    • Meraki
  • A solid understanding of the milestones associated with completing a wireless deployment
  • Understanding of network routing and switching protocols
  • Knowledge of NAC integration with WLAN's
  • Familiarity with IEEE 802.11 protocols


Essential Elements:
  • Walking up to 4-5 miles per day when doing surveys
  • Lift up to 20lb boxes
  • Sitting for periods of 2 -3 hours at a time.
  • Work on a ladder up to 15ft above ground


This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.

Special Requirements:
This candidate will operate remotely with up to 30% travel to customer and partner sites.
