A global bank is seeking a Market Data Engineer to join their New York Office. The Market Data and Market Access Systems Consultant will join the Global Market Risk (GMR) Business Support IT Monitoring team in the Business Technology Services (BTS) group.

The Market Data Engineer will be participating in the day-to-day management of Market Data, Market Access and Electronic Trading environment. This responsibility encompasses all technical aspects from the initial request of incorporating a new system into our environment, to the second level end user support.

Responsibilities include designing, proactive maintenance, monitoring and support of Market Data, Market Access and Electronic Trading Infrastructures (including RTDS fka TREP); management of vendor relationships as well as the management of Market Data and Electronic Trading Systems Related projects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

Management of all the Market Data and Electronic Trading applications Infrastructures

Market Data back-end infrastructure monitoring, maintenance and support Management of the Market Data Content

Responsible for the quality and integrity of the Market Data including real-time, end of day and security master.

Interface with Market Data Team & Market Data Content Vendors in implementing new services.

Ensure the good delivery of the content throughout the organization. Proactive system monitoring, support, analysis, and documentation.

Analyze and monitor the Market Data infrastructures components proactively, ensure maximum uptime in connectivity, reliability, redundancy, and operation effectiveness within the company domain(s).

Create Market data administration documentation and maintain its accuracy, as well as the associated IT support and troubleshooting documents.

Manage the monitoring system(s) for the Market Data and Electronic Trading infrastructures, develop monitoring requirements, maintain alerting and escalation policies, and produce periodic system health and utilization reports. Applications and Systems Deployment

Work with other infrastructure teams, various application development groups, other members of global technical services, and with business unit representatives to oversee and coordinate new implementations, as well as providing ongoing Market Data and Electronic Trading related support of end-users applications.

Analyze the requirements, provide design and implementation recommendations in accordance with company s standards and best practices, and provide the necessary documentation in the design, implementation, and system maintenance relevant to the applications. Project Management & Coordination of Market Data and Electronic Trading Related Projects

Design and maintain Market Data and Electronic Trading system & services documentation.

Plan and execute upgrades to the Market Data and Electronic Trading systems and services.

Enforce and follow policies and procedures for projects and task management, exercise best practices in system installation, configuration, redundancy, and system monitoring.

Collaborate with the local/global IT teams to accomplish short- and long-term goals, manage the project plan and execution processes, and actively participate in all project phases.

Assess hardware and software upgrade needs and maintain the respective systems up to date in terms of current versions and patching levels.

Design, plan, implement and maintain scripts to automate tasks that today are not standardized or are manually done.

Requirements:

Bachelor s degree, preference for Computer Science, MIS or a related field

5 to 10 years work experience in the Market Data field of expertise

The successful candidate will need to have a good understanding of industry leading Market data technologies from a design, engineering, and troubleshooting perspective.

Proficiency in the following Technology

o Software/Applications LSEG Refinitiv Real Time Data System (RTDS fka TREP)

Tibco Rendez Vous, Rendez Vous Router

Bloomberg Systems (Terminal, API, Server API, Bpipe)

Market Access Systems: example Tradeweb, ION, Fidessa

o Operating Systems: Windows based systems: Windows 10/11, Windows Server Unix Based systems: Linux Redhat.

o Scripting Languages: Unix Shells Powershell is a plus. Python is a plus.

o Good Networking Understanding: Basic switching and routing Firewall and Nating Proxies

The candidate should be able to demonstrate both technical capabilities and in-depth knowledge of various Market Data technologies, and best practices.

The candidate should have the ability to convey in non-technical terms complex technical explanations related to problems, designs, etc. Effective oral and written communication and documentation skills are essential.
