Enterprise GIS & IT Analyst (Natural Gas Utility)

Location: New Orleans, LA - Onsite, Full Time

JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE

We are seeking an IT/GIS Analyst to support the implementation and sustainment of the ArcGIS Utility Network platform for gas infrastructure. This role is critical in maintaining high-quality geospatial data, supporting enterprise GIS applications, and creating the documentation, training, and governance needed to scale GIS capabilities across the organization.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

GIS Operations & Support

  • Maintain and update geospatial and tabular datasets related to utility assets in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.

  • Configure, test, and perform QA/QC for the ArcGIS Utility Network, including subnetworks, network rules, domains, and associations.

  • Deploy and support web maps and field data collection applications (Field Maps, Survey123, Workforce).

Training, Documentation & Governance

  • Develop clear SOPs and training materials for GIS tools, workflows, and editing practices.

  • Onboard field and office staff with technical training sessions and one-on-one support.

  • Contribute to GIS governance standards, data quality rules, and change management protocols.

Application Configuration & Automation

  • Build dashboards, reports, and apps using ArcGIS Experience Builder, Web AppBuilder, and Dashboards.

  • Create scripts and tools (Python, ModelBuilder, Arcade) to automate QA/QC, reporting, and data syncing/extraction.

System Integration & Data Management

  • Assist in GIS data exchanges and workflows integrating with SCADA, AMI, and ETRM systems.

  • Perform regular data validation and cleanup to ensure accuracy and integrity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering, operations, and IT teams to document and refine GIS-enabled business processes.

  • Troubleshoot GIS-related issues and promote best practices for both spatial and non-spatial OT solutions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography, or related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years working with Esri GIS tools (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online).

  • Knowledge of geodatabase design, feature services, and spatial analysis.

  • Proven ability to develop training materials and process documentation.

Preferred Skills & Knowledge

  • Experience with GIS in a natural gas utility or similar infrastructure environment.

  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS Utility Network or utility system data modeling.

  • Scripting skills (Python, SQL, Arcade) and/or automation tools (ModelBuilder).

  • Familiarity with IT/OT integrations and SCADA systems.

  • Experience enforcing data governance and quality standards.
