JOB TITLE: Release Test Manager - Empower LOS Upgrades
Pay RATE: $60-$65/hr on W2
Location: Remote
This role is focused on managing the quality assurance and validation of monthly software upgrades released by the vendor (Black Knight) for the Empower Loan Origination System (LOS). The Release Test Managers will be responsible for quickly analyzing release content, determining necessary testing scope, executing manual tests, and providing critical reporting to ensure the stability of the CNB platform after each update.
Key Responsibilities
1. Release Analysis and Test Planning
Release Note Review: Analyze monthly Empower LOS release notes and documentation provided by the vendor to identify new features, changes, defect fixes, and potential impacts to existing CNB workflows and integrations.
Scope Determination: Based on release analysis, determine the required testing scope for each monthly upgrade, focusing on high-risk areas, core business processes, and mandatory regression coverage.
Test Case Preparation: Rapidly update, create, and prepare manual test cases and scenarios necessary to validate the changes identified in the release notes.
Environment Preparation: Coordinate with technical teams to ensure the appropriate test environment and required test data are available and configured for timely execution.
2. Manual Test Execution and Validation
Manual Testing: Execute hands-on manual testing of the Empower LOS upgrade features, fixes, and affected business workflows (e.g., origination, underwriting, closing) within the defined timeframe.
Regression Testing: Perform targeted regression testing to confirm that the new monthly release has not inadvertently introduced defects or broken existing, stable functionality.
Defect Logging: Accurately log, prioritize, and track all defects identified during testing using the appropriate defect management tool.
3. Reporting and Communication
Status Reporting: Provide concise, frequent, and timely reports to project stakeholders and management detailing test progress, defect status, overall release quality, and any critical risks identified.
Go/No-Go Recommendation: Deliver a clear, data-driven recommendation on the readiness of the Empower LOS environment for production deployment post-upgrade, based on successful test completion.
