Summary
We are seeking a skilled Security Engineer to lead the migration from Check Point VSX virtual firewalls to the Illumio micro-segmentation platform. The ideal candidate will have deep networking and firewall experience, along with expertise in workload-based security and micro-segmentation strategies. This role involves designing, implementing, and validating secure policies to protect workloads across on-premises and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess the current VSX environment, including firewall rules, policies, traffic flows, and critical assets.
• Map existing network-centric firewall rules to workload-based Illumio policies.
• Develop and implement a micro-segmentation strategy across workloads.
• Deploy Illumio agents and configure policies in the Policy Compute Engine (PCE).
• Validate policies via traffic monitoring and simulations to ensure no business disruption.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, network, and security.
• Document migration processes, policy configurations, and validation results.
• Assist in decommissioning legacy VSX systems once migration is complete.

Requirements

• 7 years of proven experience in Security Engineering
• Strong experience with Check Point VSX firewalls, including rule sets, virtual systems, and traffic segmentation.
• Hands-on experience with Illumio micro-segmentation and PCE configuration.
• Deep understanding of networking concepts: VLANs, routing, TCP/IP, and firewall policies.
• Ability to map network-level rules to workload-level security policies.
• Experience with traffic analysis and network mapping tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration across teams.

Bonus Skills

• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and hybrid network architectures.
• Scripting or automation skills for policy deployment and reporting.
• Knowledge of zero-trust security frameworks.
• Experience in compliance and regulatory reporting related to segmentation.
