The Atlassian Jira Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining critical engineering tool Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both software engineering and systems administration, with a passion for automating and optimizing processes to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our engineering toolset.
The Engineering Tools team plays a crucial role in managing essential tools critical for developer productivity. The team oversee a range of developer productivity tools, including GitHub, BitBucket, SVN, and Perforce for version control, as well as Jira, Confluence for project tracking, Polarion for a requirements management solution, and Artifactory for binary management. They also manage Mattermost, a widely used communication platform, to ensure that all developers can collaborate seamlessly, share information effortlessly, and maintain smooth operations. Additionally, the team also support numerous integrations between these tools, offering tailored solutions to our developer community based on their requirements while ensuring compatibility of the tools with diverse build tools supporting teams in Firmware, Autopilot, Factory Software, Manufacturing and many others. Through these tailored solutions and integrations, the Engineering Tools team facilitate efficient collaboration and productivity across various departments and projects.

Responsibilities
- The Atlassian Administrator at Tesla, will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and support of the Atlassian Datacenter products, including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket
- This role will ensure optimal performance, availability, and functionality of the Atlassian environment, while also contributing to process improvements and solutions for business needs
- Administration and Configuration: Manage and administer Atlassian tools, ensuring they are configured to meet the needs of the organization including user management, workflows, custom fields, screen schemes etc.
- Perform regular system maintenance, upgrades, and patches to ensure the stability and security of the Atlassian environment
- Continuously monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system configurations to ensure optimal performance
- Integrate Atlassian tools with other systems and tools used within the organization to streamline workflows and enhance productivity
- Provide support to end-users, including troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and providing training and documentation as needed
- Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions for provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of engineering tools infrastructure
- Work closely with team to understand requirements and implement solutions using Atlassian tools
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents in a timely manner, resolving issues to minimize downtime and impact on users
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in Installation, configuration, development, debugging, support and upgrades of Github Enterprise and Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Proficient in setting up, managing and automating Confluence Spaces and permissions
- Proficient in setting up, managing and automating Jira projects
- Prior experience in Polarion, including proficiency in configuring templates, workflows, and permissions within the platform
- Experience in setting up and maintaining Polarion in High Availability mode is highly desirable
- Experience in general programming/scripting (Python, Shell, Golang) and automation frameworks such as Ansible to manage administration, monitoring and development of custom plug-ins and workflows
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana and Splunk
- Should be able to quickly identify the root cause and resolve critical issues by looking across multiple layers (storage, OS, network, virtualization, and application / DB stack)

$133,440 - $292,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
