Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our dynamic IT Administration Finance Team. This role is crucial in supporting the financial operations and integrity of the IT department's administrative functions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles and is eager to contribute to a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the finance team with the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
  • Reconcile various general ledger accounts, bank statements, and vendor invoices.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and budget analyses specific to IT administrative expenses and contracts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal IT Admin teams to gather necessary financial data and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Assist in external audits by preparing required documentation and explanations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Junior Accountant or similar financial role (e.g., in accounting, finance, contracts, or procurement).
  • Background: This experience should have been gained within a large accounting firm, a New York City (NYC) Agency, or a comparable large private company.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with standard accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills; high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with financial systems or reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with financial processes specific to an Information Technology (IT) department.
