Design Engineer - NYC (In-Office, 6 Days a Week)
$175K - $250K 0.20% - 0.50% Equity

We are building an AI-powered student information system (SIS) for K-12 schools, designed to replace outdated legacy systems that hold back innovation. Our platform automates complex workflows, improves efficiency, and provides an interoperable foundation for the next generation of edtech.

We're seeking a Design Engineer with strong skills in both UI/UX and frontend development. You'll help define and implement design systems, ensuring our platform is functional, intuitive, and enjoyable for teachers, administrators, parents, and students.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and shape our design processes.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand needs.
  • Design and ship features end-to-end.
  • Build world-class frontend experiences with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of UI/UX design and frontend engineering experience.
  • Proven ability to deliver production-quality software.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Passion for impact in education.

Our Stack: React (Next.js), TypeScript, CockroachDB + Prisma, Temporal, OpenAI/Anthropic LLMs.
