Microsoft / AI Application Development Manager

CBIZ Talent Solutions has a client in the Chicago area looking for a hands on Microsoft Application Development Manager with OpenAI experience. The Manager will lead the development team and also be hands on creating innovative Azure cloud based platforms, including a Microsoft Azure AI and OpenAI product and a browser portal application.
The position is ideally hybrid in Chicago but other regional candidates may be considered if they are able to attend onsite meetings on a regularly determined basis.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in leveraging Microsoft technologies using modern development frameworks, Agile methodologies, to deliver high-quality digital platforms, websites, and applications.

Required:

• 12-18 years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years in a team lead / development management role
• Proven expertise in SCRUM and Agile development methodologies; certifications
• Advanced Development knowledge of Angular, React, and C# development frameworks
• Extensive experience with Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Azure AI, and Microsoft Teams
• Development Experience / API and integration with OpenAI, Google Gemini, AWS Bedrock, and Anthropic Claude
• Experience building commercial cloud based products, preferably in a start up or SAAS environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor onshore, remote, and offshore full-time senior and junior developers
• Drive technical architecture decisions for applications utilizing Angular, React, and C#
• Manage integration of Microsoft technologies including Azure, Azure AI, and Microsoft Teams; and Open AI / related LLM technologies
• Optimize SCRUM and Agile methodologies for efficient product delivery, leading design sprints and facilitating team collaboration for optimal performance
• Establish coding standards, best practices, and documentation requirements
• Evaluate team performance and provide actionable feedback and growth opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development efforts with business goals
• Present technical solutions and progress reports to executive leadership

The annual salary target for this job in this market is $150,000- $175,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
