POSITION SUMMARY

Introducing Nestl Purina's new Williamsburg Township, Ohio, factory - just 30 miles east of Cincinnati. This world-class factory will be built from the ground up to produce a wide variety of some of the most trusted and beloved pet care brands in the U.S. Our passionate team in Williamsburg Township will work in an environment that values safety, the latest technology in manufacturing and a culture of learning. As the Ingredient Specialist, you are responsible for assuring the quality and food safety of all raw materials/ingredients at factory. You have shared responsibility in sampling, testing, documentation, and release of incoming raw materials. You will manage the factory's Ingredient Program to ensure compliance to company and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct ingredient load sampling, testing, data entry and ingredient release as required.
  • Assist ingredient testers and unloaders with ingredient issues and appropriate escalation.
  • Lead and support associates with ingredients delivered under fumigation. Coordinate customer returns trailer fumigation.
  • Train, coach and audit the factory's Ingredient Program, operational pre-requisite programs, quality checks.
  • Maintain and manage programs including but not limited to ingredient shelf-life, vendor non-compliance Reports
  • Address issues as related to testing instruments, verifications and calibrations, software, and procedures.
  • Assist with compliance and auditing.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and uphold Safety and Quality as core values.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of laboratory, quality assurance and/or food manufacturing experience required

Other
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in science related field (Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, related technical field) preferred
  • PCQI certification preferred

This position will require travel up to 50% for the first 18 months and will gradually reduce as the Williamsburg Township facility approaches operational startup. The travel will include training at other Nestle Purina operating facilities and will assist with the startup of our Eden, NC plant.

The approximate pay range for this position is$60,000 to $86,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
