A "Typical Day" in the Role
Task Breakdown: Your primary focus will be using Creo (CAD) to design solutions for hydraulic component placement and routing. This involves turning engineering requirements into functional designs.
Problem-Solving: You'll spend time analyzing the root cause of equipment failures or difficulties and developing effective design-based solutions.
Collaboration: The role is highly collaborative. You will interact with various internal teams (other system engineers, product support, factory), suppliers, and potentially dealers.
Impactful Work: You will be solving real-world problems that directly affect customers and product quality.
Product Exposure: Gain valuable experience with Caterpillar's large mining truck product line and understand complex hydraulic system interactions.
Broad Network: Opportunity to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, from engineering and manufacturing to product support and the proving grounds.
