Job Profile: Network Architect Juniper & Aruba Technologies
Role Overview
The Network Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and governing enterprise network architectures with a focus on Juniper Mist, Juniper SRX firewalls, EX Series switches, Juniper WLAN, and Aruba switching & wireless technologies. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong architectural leadership, and the ability to drive end-to-end network transformation across large, multi-site global environments.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
Develop scalable, resilient, and secure network architectures leveraging Juniper Mist AI across wired, wireless, and WAN domains.
Design and implement secure network solutions using Juniper SRX firewalls, covering routing, security policies, NAT, VPN, and threat prevention.
Architect campus and datacenter networks built on Juniper EX switching and Aruba CX/AOS-S platforms.
Design enterprise wireless networks using Juniper Mist WLAN and Aruba WLAN technologies.
Create comprehensive design documentation including HLDs, LLDs, topology diagrams, and detailed migration strategies.
Implementation & Optimization
Lead complex network modernization and transformation initiatives across campus, branch, and cloud environments.
Configure and integrate Juniper Mist services including Marvis, SLEs, location services, and automation workflows.
Optimize network performance using analytics, AI insights, and proactive benchmarking.
Execute network migrations, upgrades, and cutovers for Juniper and Aruba platforms.
Operational Excellence & Governance
Establish architectural blueprints, standards, and best practices for Juniper and Aruba-based network environments.
Perform performance analysis, troubleshooting, failure diagnostics, root cause analysis, and capacity planning.
Guide operational teams on design intent, SRE practices, and automation frameworks.
Review and validate network designs submitted by vendors and partners.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with security, cloud, infrastructure, and service operations teams across the organization.
Serve as the SME for Juniper and Aruba technologies during workshops, stakeholder discussions, and executive briefings.
Support pre-sales activities including solutioning, RFP/RFI responses, and customer presentations.
Required Technical Skills
Juniper Technologies
Juniper Mist: AI-driven operations, Marvis, SLE configuration, wired/wireless assurance, Mist Edge, location analytics.
Juniper SRX Firewalls: Routing, security policies, AppSecure, IPS, NAT, VPN, HA, ExpressPath.
EX Series Switching: Campus architectures, Virtual Chassis, EVPN-VXLAN (preferred), Junos OS.
Juniper Wireless: AP deployment, WLAN design, RF planning.
Aruba Technologies
Aruba Switching (CX & AOS-Switch): VSF, VSX, VLANs, STP/MSTP, OSPF/BGP fundamentals, Zero-Touch Provisioning.
Aruba WLAN: Campus APs, Instant APs, Aruba Central, AirWave, RF optimization, roaming, WPA3/802.1X security.
General Networking Competencies
Strong foundation in TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), multicast, and QoS.
Experience with network security, segmentation, and NAC (Aruba ClearPass or equivalent preferred).
Hands-on experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible, Juniper Mist APIs preferred).
Working knowledge of cloud networking (Azure/AWS) and SD-WAN architectures.
Preferred Certifications
JNCIP-ENT, JNCIP-SEC, or JNCIE (highly preferred).
AJSEC, AJEX, AJWI, Mist AI Specialist.
Aruba Certified Switching Professional (ACSP) or Aruba Edge Associate/Professional.
Additional security or cloud certifications are advantageous.
Experience Requirements
8 15 years of enterprise networking experience.
Proven success in architecting and delivering large-scale Juniper and Aruba environments.
Experience driving modernization toward AI-Ops-based architectures (Juniper Mist).
Strong background in leading end-to-end network transformation programs.
Soft Skills
Strong architectural mindset with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Effective communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to mentor engineering teams and lead cross-functional initiatives.
