C-17 Electrical Engineering Manager

Boeing Global Services is currently seeking a first level manager to lead the C-17 Electrical/EWIS team situated in Long Beach, California. The Electrical/EWIS team is responsible for the system design and sustainment of all wiring, power, lighting, and equipment installation, for the C-17 military aircraft fleet across the globe.

This position requires someone that is inspiring and self-motivated with exceptional people skills and leadership abilities. C-17 engineering is a people first, customer focused organization and the ability to build strong customer relationships while cultivating a people first culture is a must. Looking for a dynamic person that is ready to take on challenging work and provide guidance & direction to the team. This role requires working closely with C-17 Avionics team and with other teams and managers in the C-17 Sustainment Engineering and Technical Publications team.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Electronic and Electrical Engineering.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Inspires, manages, develops, motivates and leads employees.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Skills and Experience)
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 8+ years' of experience in aerospace electrical engineering, aircraft systems/or avionics engineering
  • 3+ years leading teams in engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in Wire Design, Electrical Equipment Installation and Wire Installation Design, Power Systems and Lighting Systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders
