About the Opportunity

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to drive advanced analytics initiatives, guide data strategy, and deliver insights that support key business decisions. This role will provide technical leadership across multiple projects, mentor data science team members, and collaborate closely with senior executives to turn complex data into actionable intelligence.


Must-Have Skills

  • Proven project leadership experience in data science initiatives

  • Expertise in building data sets and developing scalable data models

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with C-level stakeholders

  • Hands-on experience with Cogito

  • AWS Certification required


Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related STEM field (Master s preferred)

  • 7+ years of professional experience in data science

  • Experience in healthcare, medical informatics, or EHR/revenue cycle data management preferred

  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms (clustering, regression, decision trees, neural networks, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, data modeling, and hypothesis testing

  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, R, and other analytical tools

  • Advanced understanding of the data science project lifecycle and model evaluation techniques

  • Excellent storytelling, communication, and presentation skills to translate technical insights into business impact

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with minimal supervision


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data science projects that impact strategic business outcomes

  • Develop and deploy custom models and algorithms to analyze data and improve operations

  • Conduct advanced analytics and predictive modeling to deliver actionable insights

  • Communicate complex findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership

  • Mentor junior data scientists and guide the broader analytics team in best practices

  • Evaluate and implement emerging tools, technologies, and vendors to advance data science capabilities

  • Maintain and monitor performance of existing models, ensuring accuracy and reliability

  • Support data governance and best practices for data quality, integrity, and security
