Job Description:

Client is seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to support the modernization of its investment management systems. The consultant will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert, working with internal teams to design, implement, and optimize solutions aligned with investment operations, data governance, and cloud strategies.

Scope of Work: Analysis, Design, Implementation, Testing, Support, Documentation and Knowledge Transfer

Analyze organizational needs, document detailed technical and functional requirements, and align proposed solutions with business objectives, ensuring they address both current challenges and future goals.

Conduct comprehensive reviews of current systems, infrastructure, and workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, while evaluating system performance, scalability, and reliability to ensure alignment with organizational demands.

Evaluate security risks, compliance requirements, and industry standards, while exploring the feasibility and potential impact of integrating emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and cloud computing to drive innovation and enhance system capabilities.

Recommend appropriate tools, platforms, and frameworks based on technical requirements, business goals, and industry best practices.

Propose one or more design options as appropriate to each situation, including a level-of-effort estimate and target delivery date.

Develop approved application changes within approved environments, using the approved promotional patterns and testing methodology.

Perform internal unit testing and facilitate system and user acceptance testing.

Produce detailed documentation, including technical specifications, workflows, and design artifacts, and lessons learned, and prepared according to best practices and according to Client standards.

Provide knowledge transfer solutions via collaborative documentation, code commenting, cross

training, and job shadowing.

Qualifications (Evaluation Criteria):

  1. Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience as a solution architect, leading and delivering IT solutions for businesses involving coherent integrations of multiple systems and technology platforms, actively participating in creating and applying architectural principles and standards in alignment with strategic business and IT directives while adhering to governance to produce results that meets the needs of the organization in terms of function, quality, compliance, interoperability, performance, maintainability, and adaptability.
  2. Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience overseeing the overall solution for work products and final implementations, including preparing proposals and estimates for projects that align with business requirements and technical feasibility, as well as expertise in project estimation, scoping, and planning to ensure accurate and realistic timelines and deliverables.
  3. Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of hands-on experience implementing technology solutions, including designing and implementing application interfaces and software services, with a focus on understanding all aspects of building and delivering solutions, as well as defining the structure and behavior of applications and how they interact with each other and with end users.
  4. Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience identifying technical and scope risks early in projects, including risks related to system architecture, data integration, resource allocation, and timeline feasibility, and implementing proactive strategies to mitigate these risks during project execution.
  5. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting IT solutions specific to investments that includes implementations delivering IBOR, OMS, and total fund portfolio management processes centralized around COTS systems with minor customizations and integrations with various data platforms and other investment solutions. The candidate should be familiar with addressing technology needs specific to investment operations, including automation, optimization of investment business processes, data integration from disparate sources, and effective data governance. The candidate should ideally have experience with SimCorp Dimensions, but knowledge of similar systems such as Charles River, Blackrock Aladdin, StateStreet Alpha may be acceptable.
  6. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience must include developing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures, integrating cloud services with on-premises systems, and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives. Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation and containerization technologies like Kubernetes or Docker is highly desirable.
  7. Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience using strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with enterprise architects, application architects, business analysts, and technical teams to deliver investment system solutions aligned with organizational goals.
