The City of Fayetteville is seeking a talented professional to join our dynamic team. As a Network Engineer, you would be responsible for the research, development, recommendation, implementation planning, installation, maintenance, support, and troubleshooting of the City s data network and telecommunication infrastructure systems. Provide project management support for all construction projects, renovations, data/voice cloud and on-premise infrastructure expansions, upgrades and repairs. Install, configure, and manage changes, monitor and troubleshoot the City s data/telecommunications infrastructure. Provide tier 3 helpdesk support in a timely and accurate fashion and supports end-user data/voice/telecommunications needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Four years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation, technical management, and utilization of on-premises and cloud-based VoIP/Cellular/Analog telecom systems, Ethernet/Fiber network infrastructure support, Windows computing, and WAN/LAN technologies or at least four years military experience with Military Occupational Codes (MOS) designated as 25B (Information Technology Specialist), 25D (Cyber Network Defender).
Training:
Equivalent to a Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in telecommunications, management information systems (MIS), computer science, or other related field.
LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
None.
Preferred:
Avaya Cloud Solution and Ring Central training, CCNP Voice, Network+ certification, Linux certification, BICSI wiring/design certification.
Please Note: Candidates selected for a position within the Information Technology Department will be required to successfully complete a Police Department and fingerprint based background check.
From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4 - 6 weeks. The process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment drug screen, background check and driving history check.
