What you'll be doing:
* Design and deploy surrogate models to approximate computationally intensive simulations and engineering processes
* Develop ML solutions for engineering applications including predictive maintenance, quality control, and system optimization
* Build neural network architectures with integrated uncertainty quantification for technical applications
* Implement Bayesian optimization, hyperparameter tuning, and multi-objective optimization strategies
* Construct production-grade ML pipelines for regression, classification, anomaly detection, and time series forecasting
* Apply probabilistic modeling and uncertainty quantification methods for engineering predictions and decision support

Who are you:
You are a highly motivated and experienced AI/ML Machine Learning Engineer with a strong background in machine learning, software engineering, and distributed computing. Your skills include:
* Strong experience with machine learning frameworks and tools
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java
* Experience with production-grade ML pipelines and probabilistic modeling
* Strong understanding of neural network architectures and uncertainty quantification methods
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
* Strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in comp sci, engineering, mathmatics, statistics, physics, or related field
-3-5+ years of professional experience in machine learning or data science roles
-strong proficiency in python
-demonstrated experience developing and deploying machines learning models in profressional settings
-strong foundation in statistical methods and model validation
Desired skills
Specialized knowledge in the following areas:
- Experience with surrogate modeling, reduced order modeling or metamodeling techniques (gaussian processes, polynomial chaos expansion, kirging, response surfaces)
- Familiarity with uncertainy quanitifaction (UQ) methods and sensitivity analysis
- background in computational sciene or numerical methods
- experience with multi-physics simulations
Advanced Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Bayesian methods and probabilistic modeling
- Experience with high-performance computing or parallel computing environments
- Familiarty with tools liek SmartUQ, Dakota, or similar UQ platforms

Ability to work remotely
Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,200 - $225,975. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
