Job Title: Product Engineer
Location: Richmond, IL

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Product Engineer to join our Core Histology Consumables business unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving engineering excellence, supporting capital projects, and implementing efficient manufacturing processes, particularly within FDA-regulated environments. This role plays a key part in enhancing production capabilities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-impact process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide manufacturing engineering support for core consumable product lines.
Lead or contribute to engineering projects from concept through execution and qualification.
Initiate and manage capital projects, including:
Cost and capacity modeling
Equipment selection and sourcing
Facility layout planning and installation
Start-up and validation activities
Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, QA, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes.
Implement and promote lean manufacturing principles to drive process optimization.
Ensure compliance with FDA and other regulatory quality standards in all engineering activities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, or related field).
Proven experience in:
Project and process engineering
Capital project implementation and equipment commissioning
Manufacturing process development, particularly in chemical formulations
Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably FDA-compliant.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across departments.
Independent self-starter with strong problem-solving capabilities.
