About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer with expertise in Mastercam to join our manufacturing team. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing CNC programs for multi-axis mills and lathes to support the production of high-precision components. This role requires strong technical knowledge of machining processes, tool selection, and setup, along with the ability to collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to ensure efficient and accurate part production.

Key Responsibilities

Create and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling, as well as lathe operations.

Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to generate accurate toolpaths.

Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to maximize efficiency while maintaining tight tolerances.

Support machinists with setup sheets, work instructions, and troubleshooting during first article and production runs.

Perform program simulations and verifications to minimize errors and reduce scrap.

Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and quality control to ensure programs meet design and manufacturing requirements.

Continuously improve machining processes to reduce cycle times, extend tool life, and increase throughput.

Maintain program files, revision control, and documentation in accordance with company standards.

Provide input on fixture design, tooling strategies, and manufacturability.

Stay up to date with Mastercam advancements, CNC technology, and best practices.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer in a precision machining environment (aerospace, medical, defense, or similar industry preferred).

Proficiency in Mastercam (2D/3D milling, multi-axis programming).

Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds/speeds, and GD&T.

Experience with multi-axis CNC mills and lathes.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and engineering specifications.

Familiarity with inspection processes and quality standards (ISO, AS9100, or similar).

Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

High attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
