ASSYST is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage large-scale project implementations across our direct client organization in Austin, TX
The ideal candidate will be an expert in the full project lifecycle, from planning and initiation to execution and closure. You will be responsible for developing detailed project plans, managing risks and issues, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope. This role requires a collaborative leader with exceptional communication skills, a strong analytical mindset, and a proven track record of successfully guiding projects using Agile methodologies.
Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099)
Job Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - Onsite)

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for large-scale organizational initiatives.
- Proactively identify, document, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies, creating robust contingency plans.
- Oversee the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring business requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with all project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to all stakeholders, including regular status updates, project reports, and presentations.
- Lead and facilitate regular project team meetings, ensuring alignment and progress toward project goals.
- Analyze complex problems, research and gather relevant data, and devise effective solutions and strategies.
- Champion Agile methodologies, overseeing feature-driven sprints, tracking development progress, and ensuring project tasks align with strategic timelines.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of proven experience managing complex projects with implementations across large organizations.
- 10 years of experience in developing and managing project plans, documenting risks, issues, and creating contingency plans.
- 10 years of experience in all phases of the SDLC, including translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- 10 years of experience in Agile project management, including overseeing feature-driven sprints and tracking progress.
- 10 years of experience building and maintaining strong relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze complex facts, devise solutions, and prepare concise reports.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to summarize and escalate issues effectively.
- Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience implementing and using Agile methodologies for one or more State of Texas Agencies.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
