Inpatient CDI Specialist | Remote | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking a CDI Specialist with 2+ years of experience. This is a 12-month contract opportunity.


CORE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Two years of experience in an Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (ICDIS) role- Need recent experience of ICDI within last 12 months 
  • Reviewing and documenting patient medical records and facilitating proper coding.
  • Concurrent review of medical records in the field of ICDI and experience in a production role within the last 12 months.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills present ideas and concepts effectively to physicians, management and other members of our healthcare team.
  • CDIP or CCDS required and RHIT, RHIA, RN, RRT, CCS, CCS-P, or MD required


JOB SUMMARY:

The Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity (ICDI) Specialist reviews inpatient and/or outpatient medical records to ensure accurate documentation of severity of illness, risk of mortality, and complexity of care. They validate coding for medical necessity, identify documentation gaps, and collaborate with physicians and care teams to improve documentation quality. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and understanding of coding, billing, and regulatory compliance.
