An Apigee Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing APIs using the Apigee API management platform. This includes implementing API security, traffic management, and other features to ensure secure and efficient API access and usage. Apigee Developers also work on creating and maintaining API proxies, microservices, and integrating APIs with various systems.
Key Responsibilities of an Apigee Developer:
• API Design and Development: Designing, developing, and managing API proxies using Apigee.
• API Security: Implementing security features like OAuth 2.0, JWT, and other standards to protect APIs.
• Traffic Management: Configuring and managing API traffic using throttling, caching, and other mechanisms.
• Microservices Development: Developing and maintaining scalable microservices to support APIs.
• Integration: Integrating APIs with various systems and platforms, including cloud environments.
• Monitoring and Optimization: Monitoring API performance and optimizing them for efficiency.
• Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues related to API functionality and performance.
• Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation for APIs and related processes.
• Collaboration: Working with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver API solutions.
• Staying Updated: Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in API development.
Qualifications for an Apigee Developer:
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API design principles.
• Experience with Apigee Edge or Apigee X.
• Proficiency in API security standards (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS).
• Experience with API gateway concepts and architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Travel: This position is 100% onsite Client Location
Degree: Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
