Role: Infrastructure Technical Lead/Architect
Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Tech Lead / Architect to manage and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Unix/Linux systems, virtualization, storage, networking, and IT service management. This role is responsible for leading multiple infrastructure teams, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and compliance with organizational standards. The Infrastructure Tech Lead will play a key role in developing infrastructure roadmaps, implementing best practices, and driving technology innovation aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple IT Infrastructure teams, including Unix/Linux Systems, VMware, Storage & Backup, Hardware Management, Networking Infrastructure, and IT Monitoring Operations.
- Oversee IT Service Management (ITSM) and Service Delivery operations, including Service Desk, IT Operations, CDM, and Workstation Engineering.
- Develop and execute an enterprise infrastructure roadmap leveraging industry best practices, automation, and cloud technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify infrastructure requirements and design scalable, cost-effective solutions.
- Establish policies, procedures, and governance standards for on-premises, cloud, and third-party hosted environments.
- Plan, implement, and maintain infrastructure lifecycle management including architecture design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization.
- Lead disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity initiatives to ensure high availability and compliance with SLAs.
- Recommend system upgrades and new technologies to enhance infrastructure performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance for hosted and managed service environments.
- Research and prototype new infrastructure and cloud technologies to improve efficiency and performance.
- Ensure that infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business and IT strategic goals.
- Supervise installation, configuration, and ongoing support of IT infrastructure components.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical direction to infrastructure and operations teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8 10 years of relevant technical project management and infrastructure leadership experience across large-scale, global IT environments.
- Strong hands-on experience in Unix/Linux Systems, VMware, Storage, Networking, and Cloud Infrastructure.
- Proven experience in IT Service Management (ITIL) and Service Delivery operations.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure design, implementation, and lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to establish IT policies, governance models, and system hardening standards.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
- ITIL Certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hybrid infrastructure (on-premises and cloud environments).
- Background in infrastructure automation, monitoring tools, and DevOps practices.
- Strong vendor and contract management experience.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale infrastructure modernization projects.
