The Hardware Team in the RAD group is a diverse group of highly motivated engineers who are passionate about designing and developing the next-generation, groundbreaking robotic platforms. We want you to join our team and be part of the success of our mission.

Overview:

As a Staff Integrity Engineer, you will join a team of engineers working to develop next-generation power electronics, control systems, and network architecture used within the robotic surgery space. You will own electrical design and simulations for Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).

This position emphasizes working closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop complex hardware designs. Candidates must be self-motivated, independent, and have an eagerness to learn and work as a team, and a desire to thrive in a very fast-paced environment.

Core Job Responsibilities:
  • Electrical design and simulations for SI, PI, and multiphysics simulations for EMI and ESD.
  • Architect, develop design, and test Signal Integrity solutions for printed circuit boards (PCBA).
  • Work closely with multi-functional teammates to develop robust and reliable architectures with electrical functionality driven by simulation, analysis, and testing.
  • Own full lifecycle design activities, including design, testing, and release documentation.
  • Perform component, board, and subsystem-level testing to ensure conformance to requirements. Testing may include EMI and ESD analysis, development of test fixturing, and thermal analysis, in addition to other specialties for specific projects.
  • Participate in design reviews, fault safety analysis, and design FMEA analysis across the broader team.
Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or Master's with 6+ years or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Altium Designer or related CAD tools for schematics and PCB layout.
  • Expertise in Ansys SIWave or Hyperlynx, or similar tools for SI and PI simulations.
  • Ability to test and debug using Oscilloscopes, VNAs, and other lab test tools.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Expertise in Ansys HFSS or similar tools for EMI, ESD simulations, and mitigation designs
  • Proven track record providing technical direction, mentorship, and expertise to others, including external contractors, partners, and suppliers.
  • Design for test, manufacture, and assembly.
  • Experience in Medical Devices, 21 CFR Part 820, IEC60601-1, etc.
