Job Title: Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer

Location: Dallas, TX, Jersey City, NJ and Tampa, FL (Hybrid)

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer with strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, while integrating solutions and supporting systems that may also leverage AWS services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimize scalable and reliable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform using tools such as Dataflow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer (Airflow).
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Develop ETL/ELT processes to ingest structured and unstructured data from various sources.
  • Implement data quality checks, logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure robust pipelines.
  • Migrate or integrate data systems between Google Cloud Platform and AWS, leveraging services like S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena as needed.
  • Optimize performance and cost-efficiency of data workflows.
  • Follow best practices in DevOps, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform or Deployment Manager), and security.
  • Maintain documentation of data architecture, systems, and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
  • Strong expertise with Google Cloud Platform data services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer, etc.
  • Working experience with AWS data services: S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, etc.
  • Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python or Java.
  • Experience with Apache Beam, Apache Airflow, or similar data orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer Certification or similar.
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
  • Experience with streaming data and real-time analytics.
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience in Agile development environments.
