Job Description
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
The associate is responsible for programming/writing CCL (Cerner Command Language) code based on defined requirements and assists in testing them. Duties include creating and analyzing financial or Clinical reports, strategizing ideas to improve business operations, providing on-site assessments, meeting with hospital leaders and other stakeholders.
1) 6 to 10+ years of experience with Cerner's CCL programming language and tools such as Discern Explorer, Discern Visual Developer, and Olympus
2) Understanding of the Cerner data model and architecture
3) Works on issues as reported and works as part of Project Teams as assigned
4) As an Analyst you will work closely with customers and clinical staff to define report requirements
5) Serve as a visible spokesperson for all CCL developed applications, reports, and extracts
6) Leads meetings with peers and customers to develop and modify applications and reports. Performs Q/A testing on application functionality
7) Lead and participate in team Peer Review sessions for enhancements and break fixes
8) Provide input and participate in change control meetings
9) Handle production problems and resolve issues for assigned Cerner Millennium solutions
10) Participate in Cerner application upgrades, including writing new test scripts as needed, conducting testing, working with end users on newly added (or modified) functionality, and supporting the upgrades migration into PROD
11) Participation in other application upgrades, patch installations and infrastructure change that impact Cerner, including project coordination, conducting Regression Testing, and supporting the Promote collaboration locally, regionally and nationally to leverage opportunities for growth and shared resources Updating support and maintenance documentation as needed
12) Communicate and validate requirements with relevant stakeholders
13) Identify automation opportunities me
14) Ability to perform query optimizations of Oracle level queries or CCL level queries
15) Ability to resolve complex issues in a timely manner, mentor new developers and provide SME advice
16) Debug issues/problems as needed (their own, as well as programs written by others)
17) Experience creating and parsing XML and JSON
18) Rules and mPages experience are a plus
19) Excellent analytical abilities necessary along with good problem-solving skills
20) Knowledge of clinical operations either through formal education or business experience
21) Aptitude and interest in learning new things. Strong verbal and written communication skills
22) Ability to communicate and present com plex issues and ideas with precision and clarity, adjusting appropriately for the audience; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
