Job Title: Glean Platform Developer (Enterprise AI Integration Engineer)

Location: [CA/Remote]

Duration: 6 + months

Job Summary

The Glean Platform Developer will be the technical expert responsible for maximizing the value of our Glean implementation. Your primary mission will be to integrate Glean's powerful search and AI capabilities with our entire ecosystem of applications, especially our custom-built, on-premise, and proprietary data sources.

You will use Glean's developer platform (APIs and SDKs) to build custom connectors, embed Glean functionality into our internal portals, and develop AI-powered "Glean Agents" to automate complex business workflows. This role is crucial for ensuring that every piece of relevant company knowledge is securely indexed and accessible, transforming how our teams find information and get work done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Custom Data Integration: Design, develop, and maintain robust data connectors using Glean's Indexing API to push content from proprietary databases, on-premise file shares, and custom-built internal applications into the Glean knowledge graph.
  • API & SDK Development: Utilize Glean's Client APIs and language-specific SDKs (Python, TypeScript, Java, Go) to embed Glean's intelligent search and chat functionalities directly into our internal applications, such as the company intranet or employee dashboard.
  • AI Agent Automation: Collaborate with business units (e.g., HR, Sales, Support, Engineering) to identify high-impact use cases for workflow automation. Build, test, and deploy Glean Agents to automate multi-step processes and provide generative AI-powered answers.
  • Platform Governance: Implement and manage fine-grained permissions and access controls for all custom-indexed content, ensuring Glean adheres to our company's strict data security and governance policies.
  • Technical SME & Support: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the Glean platform. Troubleshoot integration issues, optimize indexing performance, and provide guidance to other teams on leveraging Glean's capabilities.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation for all custom integrations, connectors, and AI agents.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Professional Experience: 3-5+ years of hands-on software development or integration engineering experience.
  • Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in at least one of Glean's supported languages: Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript.
  • API Expertise: Proven experience working with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and data serialization formats (JSON, XML).
  • Data Integration: Demonstrable experience in building data pipelines and integrating disparate enterprise systems (e.g., connecting to databases, file systems, or other SaaS APIs).
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a passion for tackling complex integration challenges.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications

  • Direct Glean Experience: Prior hands-on experience with the Glean Developer Platform (Indexing API, Client API, Glean Agents).
  • AI/LLM Familiarity: Understanding of generative AI concepts, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and large language models (LLMs).
  • Enterprise Search: Experience with other enterprise search platforms (e.g., Elastic, Solr, Coveo, Sinequa).
  • SaaS Ecosystem Knowledge: Familiarity with the APIs of common enterprise applications that Glean connects to (e.g., Salesforce, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence, Slack, GitHub).
  • Security & Identity: Knowledge of authentication/authorization protocols like OAuth 2.0, SAML, and OIDC.
