Title: Tableau Architect
Location: Onsite Chicago, IL
Rate Cap: $90/hr

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Senior Tableau Architect to join a high-impact team onsite in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will bring over 8 years of experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale Tableau solutions integrated with SQL Server and data warehouse environments.

This is a technical leadership role, focused on Tableau architecture, performance optimization, and advanced dashboard development in a complex, data-rich environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement large-scale Tableau environments with robust performance and scalability.
Optimize Tableau workbooks, dashboards, and data sources for performance and usability.
Troubleshoot complex dashboard and data model performance issues using Tableau s built-in tools.
Architect and maintain secure and scalable Tableau Server configurations.
Develop complex data models (star/snowflake schemas) and implement LOD, blending, and data densification techniques.
Define and enforce best practices in data storytelling, visualization, and Tableau governance.
Integrate Tableau with external tools via REST API, Tableau Metadata API, and TabPy (Python).
Utilize Tableau Prep for data preparation and Tableau Catalog for governance.

Requirements:

8+ years of Tableau development, architecture, and server administration.
5+ years of experience with SQL Server and data warehousing/dimensional modeling.
Expert in SQL query optimization, data blending, and large dataset management.
Strong knowledge of Tableau performance tuning (dashboards, queries, server).
Proficient in Tableau calculations, including LOD expressions and parameter-based filters.
Tableau Certification (Desktop Certified Professional or Server Certified preferred).
