Job Details

Position: Senior SQL Server Database Engineer / DBA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain highly available active-active database configurations.
  • Perform advanced SQL Server performance tuning and optimization (5+ years required).
  • Analyze, refactor, and split complex stored procedures, ensuring seamless functionality post-modification.
  • Lead migration efforts from Azure SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI) to Azure SQL Database, including code and object adaptation.
  • Develop, unit test, and troubleshoot T-SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other database objects.
  • Design and model logical and physical database schemas (5+ years of experience required).
  • Modify and optimize SSIS packages; support SSRS and SSAS solutions (SSAS experience is a plus).
  • Utilize Azure Data Factory (minimum 2 years hands-on) for data integration workflows.
  • Provide and implement alternatives to cross-database queries in Azure SQL environments (e.g., using external tables, elastic queries, or application-layer refactoring).

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL Server performance tuning, schema design, and T-SQL development.
  • Proven expertise in stored procedure architecture, debugging, and optimization.
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience with Azure Data Factory.
  • Demonstrated experience migrating workloads from Azure SQL Managed Instance to Azure SQL Database.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to refactor legacy database logic for cloud-native architectures.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS in enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and cloud database best practices in Azure.
  • Experience with DevOps practices for database deployments (e.g., CI/CD, version control for SQL scripts).
