This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment and is passionate about operational excellence in genomics.

As the regional lead, you'll oversee the development, validation, and support of automated bioinformatics pipelines used in genetic laboratories. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams-including lab scientists, product owners, IT, and bioinformatics engineers-to ensure high-quality, stable, and efficient applications that meet clinical turnaround times and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor a team of 5-7 bioinformaticians and contractors, fostering accountability and growth
* Manage daily operations of bioinformatics pipelines, ensuring service levels and turnaround targets are met
* Collaborate with lab operations to support sample processing and troubleshoot production issues
* Oversee incident response, system health monitoring, and performance metrics
* Drive CI/CD practices and workflow orchestration using tools like Nextflow, Snakemake, and ServiceNow
* Maintain data integrity, compliance documentation, and secure archival of clinical data
* Partner with engineering teams to enhance automation and implement data-driven process controls
* Support software version upgrades, tech transfers, and product launches in collaboration with R&D
* Align with other regional managers to standardize practices and share operational insights
* Implement training frameworks and competency assessments to upskill team members

REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of experience in bioinformatics, software engineering, or related fields
* Strong technical background in Python, R, Shell scripting, SQL, and AWS
* Experience with sequence aligners, variant callers, and interpretation tools
* Proven leadership in managing technical teams and delivering production-grade solutions
* Familiarity with regulated environments (CAP, CLIA, FDA) and handling sensitive patient data
* Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
* Comfortable working across abstraction levels-from strategy to technical execution

Preferred Experience:
* MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related discipline
* Agile certification and experience with international teams
* Experience with LIMS, variant interpretation platforms, and cloud migration

This is a strategic and impactful role for a bioinformatics leader who is ready to shape the future of clinical genomics operations. You'll be part of a mission-driven organization that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
