Overview
As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide hands-on technical support for electrical and instrumentation infrastructure at natural gas compressor stations and processing facilities.
Your day-to-day work will involve troubleshooting LV/MV/HV electrical systems, collaborating closely with I&E technicians during major breakdowns and repairs, and leading project teams focused on improving asset reliability and operability.
Key Responsibilities
- Work independently on mid-sized projects and technical assignments supporting operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems.
- Support electrical equipment outages and maintenance activities, including switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), and power distribution centers (PDCs).
- Lead and participate in commissioning and start-up activities for new and modified facilities.
- Conduct standards and electrical code compliance evaluations and develop projects to address identified deficiencies.
- Utilize computer modeling and data analysis tools to support problem-solving and solution development.
- Maintain and update electrical documentation, including P&IDs, one-line diagrams, and schematics.
- Coordinate and review arc flash studies, grounding systems, and power system protection.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with an active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years of industrial experience in an Electrical Engineer role within the natural gas or petrochemical industry.
