As a Plating Research Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Helping to advance electroplating technology capabilities.

Conducting R&D and providing electroplating support for research and manufacturing

Working closely with technology and product teams to develop new products from concept to launch.

Developing an understanding of 3M's new technology and product introduction methods, and participate in the advancement of 3M technology platforms

Communicating effectively with project teams on development timelines.

Ability to handle tooling and lift 50 pounds.

Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of two (2) year (academic and/or industry) experience working at an industrial company

Experience in electroplating, coating, or metallization processes

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry from an accredited institution

Experience in electroplating, coating, or metallization of micron-sized features

Experience in machining including milling, lathe operation, and welding

Experience in vapor coating, sputtering or plasma coating

Experience in microreplication processes

Leadership and networking skills

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $81,983 - $100,202, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
