Our client, a highly reputable and long-standing mid-size real estate investment trust, is hiring! They are seeking a full-time Technical Program Manager (focus in Data/AI). This is a hybrid position (3x/week onsite) and based in Midtown Manhattan (NYC). The schedule will typically be M-W onsite, Th-Fri remote.

In order to be considered, you MUST have experience in a technical or power user capacity with one or more of the following types of financial systems (in preferential order): Financial Planning and Analysis, Reporting and Analytics, Financial Modelling (Valuation and/or underwriting), Close and Consolidation (Fund Accounting), ERP systems. Track record of delivering continuous improvement on one or more of these systems is ideal.

Position Overview:
This Technical Program Manager role supports the transition and expansion of the firm's technology leadership and financial services business. This person will help shape technology initiatives, engage directly with executive leadership, and build broad-based knowledge across all enterprise technologies leveraged for Data and AI initiatives by the firm including AI, ERP, CRM, Data, ESG & Financial Reporting. They will also apply direct skills to execute business-led projects in financial data modeling and AI.

The ideal candidate will possess technical understanding, business acumen, and a strong communication profile suitable for high-level exposure. This role will serve as the primary backup for the SVP Director of Systems Development and will build broad-based knowledge across all business functions that leverage modern data analytics and the firm's areas including Investments, Asset Management, Finance, Accounting and Sustainability teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support firm's financial application portfolio including ERP, consolidation & forecasting tools, data stack, AI, ESG, and CRM systems ensuring optimal performance, integration, and alignment with business goals.
  • Serve as the primary backup to the Director of Financial Applications and collaborate closely with the CIO to maintain continuity and strategic oversight.
  • Lead the design and implementation of AI and data-driven initiatives aimed at automating and optimizing business processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to identify opportunities, define requirements, and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Provide strategic support to IT leadership in planning and managing technology and data services. Contribute to roadmap development, service delivery improvements, and long-term innovation strategies across the enterprise.
  • Design, develop, and implement forecasting models and analytical dashboards to enhance portfolio performance monitoring, risk assessment, and executive decision-making.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure technical initiatives are aligned with organizational priorities, delivering measurable value and supporting long-term strategic objectives.
  • Represent the IT department in executive-level meetings, translating complex technical concepts into business language and ensuring alignment between technology initiatives and C-suite expectations.
  • Take full ownership of the planning, execution, and delivery of cross-functional data and AI projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic business outcomes.
  • Support the evolution and expansion of firm's financial services capabilities by identifying innovative opportunities, evaluating emerging technologies, and driving continuous improvement.

Position Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in technical program, project, or product management
  • Exposure to data, AI technologies, and business strategy integration
  • Strong communicator with executive presence, especially in capital markets and alternative investments context
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to lead and scale initiatives independently
  • Career ambition to grow into an executive-level role within 5 years
  • Anaplan Model Builder Certification ( Level 3 or higher) highly desired
  • Experience with SQL, Salesforce, APIs/ETLs, PowerBI, Azure, Pigment, Workiva desired
