Moog Military Aircraft Group, Torrance Operations is looking for a Fabrication Quality Manager to lead teams within the Fabrication Inspection, CMM Programming and NDT Organizations. In addition to leading these 3 teams of 13 people, you will also lead the cross-functional fabrication team to achieve our site quality goals. Reporting to the Fabrication Ops Director. This on-site position is based in Torrance, CA (Los Angeles area) and offers a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).

As the Fabrication Quality Manager, you will:

  • Lead our Fabrication Inspection team of 5 people who perform in process and final inspection on detail parts and final assemblies. Emphasis is on leadership and support of the team as well as procurement of world class inspection gaging and Advanced Manufacturing Inspection equipment.

  • Lead our CMM Programming team of 3 people who program our Zeiss and Gleason Coordinate Measuring Machines. Emphasis is on leadership and support of the team as well as a focus on integration with Advanced Manufacturing machining centers in a closed loop environment.
  • \n
  • Lead our Non-Destructive Testing organization of 4 people who perform magnetic particle as well as fluorescent penetrant inspection. Emphasis is on leadership and support of the team as well as process improvement with regards to workflow and scheduling.

  • Work in a collaborative cross-site environment between our Torrance, East Aurora and Baguio City, Philippines sites.
  • \n
  • Lead our overall Fabrication team in achieving our site Fabrication Quality KPI reductions of Scrap and Rework. Emphasis would be on Root Cause Corrective Actions along with Non-Conformance reduction, Quality Compliance, Lessons Learned, and Process Checklist implementation.
  • \n
  • Support the Fabrication effort with regards to customer, AS9100, and NADCAP audits.
  • \n
  • Assist in closing corrective actions assigned to Fabrication team.
  • \n
  • Lead initiatives to improve inspection capabilities, including identification of high-impact CAPEX projects
  • \n

To be considered for the Fabrication Quality Manager role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
    \n
  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or other technical discipline is desirable)
  • \n
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Quality, Engineering, or Manufacturing
  • \n
  • Experience in the aerospace industry; experience with AS9100 standards
  • \n
  • Leadership experience (experience leading large groups is desirable)
  • \n
  • Experience leading and facilitating the coordination of activities among variable sized groups of different functional backgrounds
  • \n
  • Experience with problem solving, Root Cause Corrective Action, technical data analysis, and project management
  • \n
  • Ability to communicate concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing, and be able to substantiate a position to make recommendations
  • \n
  • Knowledgeable in machine shop and assembly/test practices, inspection processes, tool and gage application
  • \n
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • \n

Salary Range Transparency:
Torrance, CA $130,000.00-$160,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
