Job Details
Our client is looking to hire a UI-UX Designer to help drive the development and support of the IRIS 2.0 modernization project, a full replacement of the client s case management system. This position will play an integral role on self-directed project teams working on this high priority development project.
Tasks
- Reviewing the legacy IRIS system
- Working with users and business analysts to understand business requirements
- Designing new workflows for the modern system
- Redesigning existing workflows, wireframe and prototype ideas
- Conducting usability research
- Champion modern design principles in our development
- Conducting usability, accessibility, workflow, and integration testing
- Providing guidance on issues pertaining to user experience
- Designing beautiful and usable UI components, including leveraging our material design library, to provide a modern, easy-to-use system for DVR users
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical / problem solving skills
- Demonstrated success in designing beautiful, accessible, and intuitive web applications.
NOTE: Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI at their own expense prior to starting the role. The resource will need to come onsite on day 1 for in-person orientation. After that, resource will be expected to come onsite once per month for in-person meetings, possibly more frequently based on project needs. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. We can accept H1b, , TN, and other valid work visas for IT. However, we cannot accept OPT or CPT visas at this time.
Location: Madison, WI (Hybrid occasional on-site days required monthly)
Contract: 1 year
Skills Required:
- 2 years - Experience as a lead designer in a development project, preferably involving modernization of technology as well as working with a cross-functional team to redesign and simplify UX and workflows to meet modern application design standards, using a material design library and component framework, such as MudBlazor.
- 4 years - Experience creating wireframes/prototypes and iterating over them with cross-functional stakeholders
- 4 years - Experience creating personas and testing designs against the personas
- 4 years - Experience / knowledge of modern code implementations, US web design standards, and product strategy
- 1 year - MS Office Products, MS Office 210/O365, Project, Excel, Word Outlook
- 4 years - Change management experience
- 4 years - Documenting Requirements
- 2 years - In depth knowledge of System Development Lifecycle Deliverables (SDLD) for each phase of development
Skills Desired A plus to have:
- 4 years - Understanding of Project Management methodologies and experience with Agile
- 2 years - Project Management experience
- 1 year - Experience with .NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET
- 1 year - Experience as a developer in a large, very complex organization
- 1 year - Requirements gathering
