Overview
Be part of the team that keeps Azure's global server fleet thriving, driving innovation and efficiency to power the world's most advanced cloud. At Azure Core MCIS (Microsoft Capacity Infrastructure Services) Decommission, we play a critical role in maintaining the health and modernization of Azure's global server fleet. By safely, efficiently, and intelligently decommissioning legacy servers, we ensure Microsoft's cloud continues to deliver top-tier performance and reliability. Our work involves close collaboration with core backend and infrastructure teams to transition workloads to newer, more efficient hardware. We partner with backend service teams to safely release control of outdated hardware and work alongside datacenter teams to ensure compliant removal from facilities. This process is vital, impactful, and deeply rewarding as we enable Azure to evolve and thrive in a rapidly advancing world.
As a Senior Software Engineer in MCIS, you will drive the automation of Azure datacenter processes, enabling safe and efficient workload migration, logical and physical transitions, and intelligent planning and validation. Your role will involve large-scale orchestration, collaborating with various components and partnering teams to streamline workflows. By optimizing costs (COGS) and enhancing operational efficiency, you'll directly contribute to maximizing the revenue potential of Azure's cloud services. This role offers a unique opportunity to accelerate your career growth, dive deep into the architecture and infrastructure of Azure, and deliver significant business impact in a high-visibility area. We offer flexibility with work location, including support for remote work.
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals.
